Two years previously, Lee DeForest was unknown. But during the 1903 international yacht races, the American DeForest Wireless Telegraph Company installed its radio equipment on Sir Thomas Lipton's personal yacht, and the inventor also found time to relax and join a group photograph aboard ship, seated at the bottom right.
