A  WIRELESS  EXPERT
_______

C.  F.  Elwell  Extending  His  Reputation  as  Demonstrator
_______

    C. F. Elwell, who married Miss Ethel Pullan of this city, is making a name as a demonstrator of the possibilities of wireless telephony and wireless telegraphy. It was under the direction of Mr. Elwell that the first strictly overland wireless telephone demonstration in America was made between Stockton and Sacramento on February 23rd. The conversation was carried on with perfect success. So perfect was the vocal signals that they excited astonishment, being louder and more distinct than those obtained by the use of wires.
This demonstration is likely to mark an important epoch. The two permanent stations established at the points mentioned will doubtles do much to develop the science and may prove the nucleus for an extensive system of stations throughout the west.
Mr. Elwell is arranging to give a demonstration of wireless telegraphy which is attracting statewide attention.
