A year earlier, Fathers Donegan and Quinan had made a similar series of broadcasts from Saint James' Cathedral over temporary station KDP in Seattle. (The displayed broadcast announcement was run in the January 16th issue of the Tacoma Daily Ledger, and the Father Donegan biography appeared two days later.)

LIKENS  MYSTERIES  OF  RELIGION  TO  THE  RADIOPHONE
________

Although St. Patrick's church is not large enough to seat crowds attracted by the nightly lectures of the Paulist Fathers to non-Catholics, the audience has been growing by hundreds every night through the unlimited capacity of the radiophone. With the aid of amplifying devices, many families are holding meetings in their own homes, inviting their friends to hear St. Patrick's church mission by wireless. Even from places 80 miles away are coming reports of the lectures being heard.
Father Quinan, in his lecture on the "True Meaning of the Holy Communion," offered the radiophone as an example of what the human race believes in but cannot understand; comparing it to the mysteries of life. He said, in part:
"There are a great many mysteries of nature that man cannot understand, but yet they believe in them. For example, the origin and component parts of matter, the law of gravitation, magnetism, electricity, the wireless phone into which I am speaking," said Father Quinan.
The lecture this evening, by Father Donegan, will be "What Catholics Believe About the Pope." Questions will be answered at 7:45. The lecture will be broadcasted from the church station, KFFD, beginning at 7:55.
By special request there will be a Saturday night lecture by the Paulists on "The Catholic Church and Civilization."
